The Second Book of Kings - Chapters 17 through 19

We should begin this study by a look back.  God first appeared to Abram and promised him that a nation would be born from his seed.  That nation had its growth period as guests, then as slaves, in Egypt.  God rescued His people by a strong hand.  As they wandered in the wilderness, God promised His people Israel a land "flowing with milk and honey".  But, God warned them that there was a reason He was giving  this land to them - that the people who then occupied the land had sinned greatly.  Although God had given them hundreds of years to repent from their horrible practices, like burning their children alive, they refused.  So, God was going to remove them from the land at the hand of His chosen people Israel.  God, in preparation for this, gave them a warning in Leviticus 18:24-30.
