The Book of Deuteronomy - Chapters 11 through 12
Moses tells the people, and I believe us as well, that we will be held responsible for what we have seen God do. Moses had led the people to the entrance of the Promised Land relatively shortly after they left Egypt, but Moses sent 12 men to spy out the land. Ten of them came back with a 'bad report'. They said taking the land would be too difficult, that they and their children would be made slaves again. Only Joshua and Caleb voted to trust God and go in. Because of their lack of faith and unbelief, God banished them to wander in the desert until all the adults who had chosen not to obey God had died. During their forty years of wandering in the desert, God provided miraculously for their every need, and Moses is reminding them of that fact.
