John has been caught up to heaven, a type of the Rapture, and is describing God the Father, Who sits on the throne of heaven.  The light of His glory radiated out so fiercely that all John could describe were the color of lights eminating from Him.  We are present in the throne room of the universe....command central .... and we're going to see the ultimate escrow closing, the ultimate real estate land transaction.  Now, John tells us that God is holding something.
