The Book of Deuteronomy - Introduction & Chapters 1 through 4

The Book of Deuteronomy is the last of the five Books of Moses.  Its author was Moses, with the only exception being Chapter 34, the last chapter of the Book, which is the obituary of Moses, and was probably penned by Joshua and added to the Book.  There have been in the past, and still are, arguments that Moses didn't author this Book.  These arguments began with the assertion that writing didn't exist during Moses' day.  This has since been proven false, but, unfortnuately, is still taught in some seminaries and in some churches today.  Deuteronomy is quoted more than 80 times in 17 of the 27 New Testament Books, and these quotes support Mosaic authorship.
