The seven letters to the seven churches.  They outline the history of the church.  If they were in any other order, they wouldn't make sense.  Even the names of the churches are significant to the message that Jesus is giving to each church.  The name Ephesus means "darling" or "spousal love".  Remember that Jesus condemned this church for leaving their first love.    Now we get to Smyrna.  The name Smyrna means "myrrh".
