Chapter 46 continues the condemnation of idolatry.  It opens with an announcement of defeat against the idols of Babylon in particular.  This in and of itself is quite amazing, since at this time, Babylon had not yet risen to the status of a world power, and was not then an enemy of Israel.  But, Babylon is the source of all idolatry, and also the source of all false religions.
