Chapters 11 and 12 of The Book of Leviticus deal with cleanliness and hygiene.  Moses was born and raised in Egypt, in the household of the Pharaoh.  As such, he would have had the finest schooling and training in the land.  He would have been well acquainted with what was the medical wisdom of the time.  It's astonishing that Moses didn't incorporate a single medical remedy of the day into the inspired instructions that are recoreded in the Torah...the Five Books of Moses.
