In Chapter 3 of Paul's Epistle to the Colossians, he gives us the proper way to deal with the flesh and grow the mind and the spirit.  The goal of sinless living is good, but most methods to get there are wrong.  It doesn't come from some "secret knowledge" that's open to the interpretation of those "in the know", and it doesn't involve elevating the mind of man above the mind of God.  Paul gives us tips on how to put off the old nature, and put on Christ's character.
