The Book of Ruth - Chapters 3 & 4

The time has come for Ruth to present her claims to Boaz and give him an opportunity to be her "kinsman-redeemer".  The Old Testament law provided that a kinsman could buy back an estate which had been lost through poverty (Leviticus 25:23-55).  This law allowed the land to be kept in the possession of the tribe who originally inherited it when the people of Israel entered the land.  As we'll see, there are many "types" of Jesus Christ, who is our "kinsman-redeemer".
