The Book of Jeremiah - Chapters 44 through 46

There's just some people that you can't tell anything.  They won't listen.  Their minds are like steel traps - tightly shut and difficult to open.  They have their mind made up, and they're not going to change for anyone...not you, not me, not even God.

In Chapters 40 through 42, we will see Jeremiah speaking to those who were left in the land by Nebuchadnezzar after he had destroyed Jerusalem.  These were the very poor, the blind, the crippled, the sick, the lame, and the criminal element.  Nebuchadnezzar deported only the best and brightest of the land of Judah back to Babylon.  He didn’t need to bring more problems to his own society.

The Epistle to the Ephesians - Chapter 4:1-16

So far, we have studied the first e Chapters of Paul's Epistle to the Ephesians.  As is customary with Paul, many of his letters deal with information, or doctrine in the first half of the letter, and then with application in the remainder.  Now Paul begins to tell us how to apply these things to our lives.

The Epistle to the Ephesians - Chapter 3

Paul gets sidetracked in his opening sentence here in Chapter 3.  What sidetracks Paul is the need for him to explain his role and responsibility.  He talks about being a prisoner of Christ for the sake of the Gentiles, and realizes that it would be helpful for his readers to know more about him, and about what Jesus has told him that is so incredible that he is willing to suffer imprisonment and persecution for it.

The one who has the Son, has it all.  But, exactly what is included in the "all"?  There are several things, and I would suggest that the first thing is that we are promised new life in Jesus Christ, becasue it means we now know what God is like.  The coming of Christ gave us a living picture of who God is.  Christ's coming put a face on God.

  1. Colossians
  2. Philippians
  3. Philemon, and
  4. Ephesians

The Epistle to the Galatians - Chapter 6

In this final Chapter, Paul presents two more contrasts in the Christian life.  Keep in mind that he is describing the spiritual life of a believer who lives under grace, and not under the Law.  It is a life of liberty, not bondage, and one that is lived in the Spirit, not in the flesh.

The Epistle to the Galatians - Chapter 5

The whole point of Paul's letter to the Galatians was to clear up confusion that was the result of false teaching.  One sure way to identify a false doctrine, or at least cause the "red flags" to start waving, is to apply this test:

  1. Did Jesus teach it;

  2. Is it practiced in the Book of Acts; and

  3. Is it taught in the Episltes
